Why Brew and Drink Loose Leaf Tea?

It's Simple............Hydration

There's more tea exposure when the leaves
mix freely in steeping water.

Tea in bags is powdered or ground into very small fragments.
It has to be, as the tea bag is a very restricted space
and water cannot circulate particularly well.

This lack of hydration and circurlation means:
flavours, aromas and benefical compounds
are not extracted efficiently.

Furthermore ground tea presents a
large surface area to the air,
oxidizing the tea rapidly.
Even anti-oxidants
oxidise!

In other words, tea from a teabag
is stale by the time you drink it!

So you are the loser,
the taste is poor and any goodness
that the tea contains will be greatly reduced.

The Wonderful Loose Leaf Tea

With loose leaf teas are whole tea leaves,
oxidation is much slower, thus leaf teas stay fresher,
retaining their flavours, aroma and benefical compounds longer.

Comparing loose leaf tea to the tea bag is like comparing;
fancy restaurant meal to a fast food place
or gourmet coffee to instant coffee

The difference is night and day.

Remember
the only thing that should be dunked in a tea cup
is a sweet biscuit or crumpet.......not a bag.
